Earth will depend on the choices that we make as a society

Before the year 2000, life on Earth was characterized by a slower pace of technological development and a more limited understanding of the environmental impact of human activity. After the turn of the millennium, however, life on Earth has been characterized by rapid technological advancement and a growing awareness of the need to protect the planet.

Before the year 2000, human civilization was largely focused on industrialization and economic growth.
